Don’t let the words “Flower & Garden Festival” fool you. Our first stop at F&G was for beer and hot dogs.
The Pineapple Promenade scored both our favorite beverage and a vote for weirdest way to eat a hot dog.
I say “weird,” but let’s be clear – there were no leftovers.
Food
Spicy Hot Dog with Pineapple Chutney
Pineapple Soft-Serve Ice Cream
Drinks
Florida Orange Groves Winery Sparkling Pineapple Wine
Maui Brewing Co Pineapple Mana
Pineapple Soft-Serve Ice Cream with Coconut Rum
Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade (non-alcoholic)
The hot dog was a full-sized dog, ideal for sharing but not ideal for sharing and then wanting to sample the eats from a dozen other places. Are mini hot dogs a thing? Because it would have been a perfect thing here. Still, ate every bite.
The hot dog is topped with a spicy pineapple chutney that packs a full punch of fire, spicy mustard, and crunchy crushed plantain chips.
The pineapple beer, Mana, was my favorite non-Lapu Lapu beverage of the entire trip. I kept thinking that if it tastes this great on a chilly March day, how refreshing it must be on a Texas summer scorcher. Should only have to wait another 3 weeks to find out.
The pineapple soft-serve is found under its fancy name brand elsewhere on Disney property, as is it’s Grown-Up Counterpart that’s served with rum at the African ice cream stand in Animal Kingdom.
